Taiko-wear Mishaps and Fixes
What were some of your taiko-wear problems and how did you fix them?
We had an issue with japan-dyed indigo fabrics. Apparently they're supposed to be "sun"-set for a year -- or laundered until all excess dye is washed out. But people just started wearing and washing them anyway. The color transferred on to skin (and then to bachi) even when dry.
As far as my research has shown, there is no after "fix" for these indigo-dye things. Dye fixing is something that has to happen as part of the dying process. Salt, vinegar and other fixes really don't do anything if you aren't totally sure about the composition of the dye.
Does anyone have any examples where something worked for them -- post dying?
