Fabric Resources
Where do we find fabrics appropriate for Happi, Hachimaki, Obi, and Tekko?
Taiko Jinsei (http://taikojinsei.com also known as http://taiko.biz) in addition to having a great selection of softgoods for hardwear, has a section devoted to taiko related softgoods called: Sharewear.
Stop by to find fabrics, patterns, how-to's and other taiko-wear related stuff.
Happi, and hachimaki I use yukata fabrics. Obi I stitch fabrics to a heavy cotton twill to get the right "weight" for tying.
Want something super special? You can often find used obis and kimonos with great fabrics to use to make new taiko-wear, in for-profit second-hand stores. This one's in the Twin Cities... http://www.ragstock.com
